ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works to maximize center census; design, implement, and manage an effective streamlined process for center to accept admissions on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis and ensure a high level of patient satisfaction.
Documents inquiries appropriately. Follow-up on inquiries that have not yet converted to admissions. Conducts admissions counseling and tours with potential residents, families, and/or responsible parties. Advises residents and/or families of admission requirements as established by the facility and health maintenance organizations.
Screens and promptly accepts potential admissions to the facility for the following: level of care appropriateness, financial payment source, length of stay (short or long-term care). Contacts referral source promptly regarding acceptance/denial of the referral.
Ensures proper completion, signing, and distribution of paperwork. Able to expedite assessment and admissions process in an effective manner. Completes and determines financial assessment of new admissions to facility.
Provides advance notification to department heads regarding appropriate preparation and follow-up. Oversees assignment of attending physicians. Gather appropriate information regarding residents' face sheets/demographic information to be kept in the clinical record.
Tracks and trends business. Maintains logs to identify and follow up on lost business and identify opportunities to expand services to meet the need of the customer/referral source.
Ability to develop a strong understanding of the market and potential business. Able to maintain positive relationships with referral sources and offers a solution-based approach to referrals. Is driven to convert admissions. Has strong assessment skills and is open to training and education to further skill level.
Creates and carries out Quarterly Business Plan; drives weekly Business Development Meeting. Demonstrates ability to use specified sales training/techniques to execute targeted sales calls. Identifies center opportunities for community marketing and network development. Exhibits leadership and enthusiasm for customer service and patient experience.
Education: Advanced degree preferred. Can be waived in lieu of appropriate experience.
Certificate/Licenses: None.
Work Experience: One year of sales or admissions experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Freedom from illegal use of drugs, and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.
