Labor Relations Director directs and oversees a company's labor relations programs, policies, and procedures. Establishes and maintains satisfactory labor-management relations, interprets the collective bargaining agreements, administers grievance procedures including arbitrations, and assists all levels of management on labor matters. Being a Labor Relations Director requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Additionally, Labor Relations Director typically reports to top management. The Labor Relations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Labor Relations Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     The Network Relations Director supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope by sharing Convoy’s vision and mission and garnering support from churches. The Network Relations Director serves the organization as a credentialed minister, speaks on behalf of the organization at churches and conferences, administers sacraments, and conducts religious worship.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Nurtures relationships with existing church partners and creates new relationships with new church partners within assigned region and personal network of relationships.
    2. Speaks in churches and at conferences or other gatherings, challenging people to join Convoy of Hope’s movement of compassion to bring physical and spiritual help to the poor and the suffering.
    3. Influences churches to participate in One Day to Feed the World®, feedONE®, and other Convoy of Hope campaigns.
    4. Leads Vision Trips with pastors to experience the work of Convoy of Hope in the U.S. and in select international locations, e.g., Haiti, El Salvador, Philippines, or Kenya.
    5. Contributes toward team revenue goals, participates in scheduled team meetings, and attends all Convoy of Hope “At Home Week” meetings and activities.
    6. Provides for Convoy of Hope Chapel ministry, as scheduled.
    7. Conducts worship services.
    8. Provides regular devotional and prayer on the field for Convoy of Hope workers and spiritual counseling as both a representative of Convoy of Hope and the partner ministries.
    9. Provides spiritual counseling to Convoy of Hope staff and volunteers.
    10. Performs sacerdotal functions as requested by Convoy of Hope staff, volunteers, or others both at the Convoy of Hope offices and on the field.
    11. Fulfills all other duties as assigned.

     

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    1. Is an ordained, licensed, or commissioned minister with church ministry experience.
    2. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
    3. Three or more years of experience in a pastoral role is required.
    4. Billingual Spanish/English preferred. 
    5. Can use a PC and software programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    6.  Demonstrates strong organizational skills for handling several projects at one time.
    7. Exhibits excellent interpersonal communication skills for dealing with pastors and other leaders.
    8. Possesses excellent presentation skills for casting vision and communicating needs.
    9. Able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally as requested.
    10. Has nurtured excellent pastoral relationships from a broad spectrum of geographical locations.
    11. Has no other employment or conflicts of interest that would distract from his/her main responsibilities at Convoy of Hope unless by written approval, per Convoy of Hope’s conflict of interest policy.
    12. Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
    13. Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
    14. As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization's religious purposes for which it exists and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
