    THIS POSITION

    The Director of Donor Relations and Annual Giving is an integral part of the Advancement department and reports to the Chief Advancement Officer. The Advancement department is responsible for creating a culture of philanthropy and spearheading community engagement; activities include cultivating and stewarding donors, identifying and soliciting prospects, alumni relations, and community events. This position is primarily responsible for leading annual giving and Advancement communications.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develops the Advancement strategic and yearly operating plan for achievement of annual giving goals and associated metrics, including increasing donor retention by 10% and donor acquisition by 5%

    • Manages a leadership annual giving portfolio of 25-40 donors and prospective donors

    • Identifies and qualifies prospects for annual giving; make solicitations through phone conversations, personal meetings, and written correspondence

    • Oversees annual giving messaging, segmentation, solicitation, and stewardship both in print and online

    • Hires, supervises, and evaluates the Development Coordinator

    • Manages the annual giving budget

    • Manages leadership annual giving volunteer program

    • Develops strategic plan and annual operating plan for Advancement communications 

    • Devises and orchestrates collateral, communication plans and activities to cultivate and steward Holland Hall donors

    • Serves as the Advancement team liaison to the Communications department to ensure consistent and strong articulation of the case for supporting Holland Hall

    • In collaboration with Advancement staff, develops and executes annual communications plan 

    • In partnership with Director of Development, implement marketing plan for planned giving 

    • Track development efforts in the Advancement CRM per departmental guidelines

    • Build trusting relationships with volunteers, donors, prospective donors, faculty, students and other constituents from diverse backgrounds

    • Research best practices and benchmark against other independent schools’ donor relations programs

    Qualifications


     

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and minimum of 3-5 years equivalent experience.

    • Must be organized and able to prioritize work, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Knowledge of Google and Microsoft products.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Work day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The time required to perform this job may extend to hours outside department hours to include evenings and occasionally weekends.

    • Be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    • Activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual activity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
