Our core values include: Compassion, Quality, Accountability, Integrity, Diversity and Teamwork.The Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) responsibilities include: Concurrently review and evaluate selected patient's medical records for overall quality and completeness Assisting in clarifying documentation regarding the patient s diagnoses and/or procedures, co-morbid conditions, complications, and other reportable data elements Clarifications will be completed by utilizing computer software to generate the clarification. On-site presence, support, and collaboration with physicians, non-physician clinicians, and coding professionals regarding documentation opportunities, coding and reimbursement issues, and relevant quality and performance improvement opportunities. Continued participation in ongoing required educationEducation: Current New Jersey Licensed Registered Nurse BSN degree CCDS certification (preferred)Required: Passing grade onNuanceClinical Competency Exam Minimum 5 years acute hospital experience as a clinical nursePreferred: Prior experience in clinical documentation review Understanding of ICD-10-CM coding requirements Experience in a supervisory role Adult acute care experience in med/surg, critical care, emergency, or PACUCommunity Medical Center, an affiliate of RWJBarnabas Health, is a 592-bed, fully accredited acute care hospital offering area residents world-class medical treatment with the comforts of hometown care.
