Collects, prepares, and tests samples and records measurements or observations. Being a Laboratory Assistant prepares reports detailing results and conclusions, applications, and methodology. Conducts routine maintenance and safety checks on lab equipment to ensure working order. Additionally, Laboratory Assistant assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials and the ordering and stocking of materials and equipment. May be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Laboratory Assistant work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Laboratory Assistant typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. The LSA is responsible for collection of urine and oral fluid specimens, data entry, specimen packing and shipping, ordering lab supplies and communicating with the laboratory, office and LSA leadership for questions or issues.
General Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of the collection and shipment of specimens to the laboratory.
Brand Ambassador, as a representative of Millennium Health and provides exceptional customer service as an intermediary between the practice / clinic and the laboratory, while maintaining a safe and professional environment for patients and customers.
