Conducts routine maintenance and safety checks on lab equipment to ensure working order. Additionally, Laboratory Assistant assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials and the ordering and stocking of materials and equipment. May be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. RiverView Health has a position open for a full-time (80 hours every 2 weeks) Laboratory Technical Assistant (LTA)/Phlebotomist. The LTA/Phlebotomist will coordinate and perform tasks and activities in the clinical laboratory phlebotomy area. The position will perform supportive laboratory functions, coordinate specimen collection activities, prepare specimens for laboratory testing and perform screening procedures. In addition to tasks listed, the position will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients as needed, labeling samples correctly and delivering to laboratory for testing and analysis. Will also be required to perform waived testing, as needed. The position will work primarily Monday thru Friday and hours of work will vary, but will be between the hours of 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Salary range is $17.59 - $24.62 and starting wage is dependent on experience.
