Laboratory Assistant performs research activities in a laboratory environment to aid in the planning, designing, and conducting of experiments. Collects, prepares, and tests samples and records measurements or observations. Being a Laboratory Assistant prepares reports detailing results and conclusions, applications, and methodology. Conducts routine maintenance and safety checks on lab equipment to ensure working order. Additionally, Laboratory Assistant assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials and the ordering and stocking of materials and equipment. May be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Laboratory Assistant work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Laboratory Assistant typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. ```Duties```
- Calibrate precision measuring instruments and equipment according to established standards
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on measuring instruments
- Conduct inspections to ensure equipment meets specifications
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with measuring instruments
- Fabricate or modify fixtures to support measurement processes
- Collaborate with other departments to address quality control concerns
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members
```Skills```
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and equipment
- Experience in field service or industrial maintenance is preferred
- Knowledge of electrical systems and high voltage is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Customer service-oriented mindset
