Laboratory Assistant jobs in Sarasota, FL
Laboratory Assistant performs research activities in a laboratory environment to aid in the planning, designing, and conducting of experiments. Collects, prepares, and tests samples and records measurements or observations. Being a Laboratory Assistant prepares reports detailing results and conclusions, applications, and methodology. Conducts routine maintenance and safety checks on lab equipment to ensure working order. Additionally, Laboratory Assistant assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials and the ordering and stocking of materials and equipment. May be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Laboratory Assistant work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Laboratory Assistant typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Clinical Laboratory Assistant
HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to fill an opening with a prestigious healthcare organization in Sarasota, FL.
Daily Responsibilities for Clinical Laboratory Assistant:- Responsible for laboratory testing, quality control, specimen processing, following laboratory assay instructions, phlebotomy, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
- Assess research laboratory kits supply requirements for clinical trials
- Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Required Qualifications for Clinical Laboratory Assistant:- 2 years as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
- Must be proficient with computer software programs including Electronic Medical Record (EMR) programs
Preferred Qualifications for Clinical Laboratory Assistant:- Experience in a laboratory setting highly preferred
- Basic Life Support (CPR) is preferred
