Clinical Laboratory of the Black Hills is an independent laboratory/pathology practice providing services to Rapid City, South Dakota and surrounding communities.

Primary Duties:
Billing Specialist Duties List ·
Greet in-person customers and communicate with them as to the purpose of their visit; contact customers through other methods such as telephone, email, and postal mail with the goal of identifying problems and resolving them. · Researches all information needed to complete billing processes. · Maintain paper and electronic records for various accounts and supporting documentation; ensuring that the data is accurate. · Assists in the processing of insurance claims and patient payments. Processes all insurance provider's correspondence and insurance forms.
Assists patients in completing all necessary forms, to include payment arrangements made with patients.
Answers patient questions and concerns. ·
Follows-up with insurance companies and ensures claims are paid/processed. ·
Assists error resolution, resolve denial instances.
Research return mail. Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information. ·
Attend training seminars and staff meetings and take on miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Conduct duties in a professional and timely fashion.
Maintains strictest confidentiality. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications: Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED. Education or experience with health service industry is preferred. Customer service skills and data entry skills are required.
Physical / Mental Demands: Work may require hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, lifting items up to 25 lbs on occasion or sitting for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity for using a calculator or computer keyboard.
