MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology (MT) or related field OR Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or related field.
2. Current WV License as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) OR Medical Technician (MLT).
EXPERIENCE:
1. Three (3) years of laboratory experience.

1. Certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) OR Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a nationally recognized agency.

1. Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the laboratory department.
2. Schedule assigned staff to ensure adequate staff coverage of all areas as required by workflow and work volume to complete workload.
3. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring personnel and provide timely orientation of new staff.
4. Coordinate and oversee the technical activities of Specimen Processing and/or Phlebotomy to assure appropriate specimen collection and processing in support of the hospital's mission of patient care.
5. Make recommendations of positive changes for the department policies, procedures, and practices.
6. Assure that proper action is taken and documented whenever test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
7. Operate and oversee the operation of basic laboratory equipment consistent with standard operating procedures.
8. Promptly prepare and deliver patient specimens in accordance with standard operating policies and procedures.
9. Orders, receives, and stores appropriate levels of all necessary supplies to carry out specimen processing activities
10. Respond to customer inquiries and perform a variety of duties related to customer service in accordance with hospital and laboratory policies and procedures.
11. Perform duties of an MT or MLT.
