Being a Laboratory Courier is responsible for maintenance and care of vehicle. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Laboratory Courier must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Licensing requirements depend on the state. Must have a "satisfactory" driving record. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Laboratory Courier may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Description:
Provide courier service for samples from surrounding physician offices and nursing homes to the hospital
Completes routes in timely manner and notifies proper individual if delayed for any reason; demonstrates ability to work independently
Maintains auto and logs in a neat and clean order and reports auto mechanical problems in timely manner to lab manager
Operates vehicle in accordance with the policy, manufacturers operating instructions and traffic laws
Performs clerical duties when needed (i.e. alphabetizing, filing and sorting lab reports)
Experience/Qualifications:
Must have high school diploma or GED
Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) required
