Laboratory Courier picks up and delivers medical specimens and packages for a laboratory. Ensures timely, safe, and accurate delivery. Being a Laboratory Courier is responsible for maintenance and care of vehicle. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Laboratory Courier must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Licensing requirements depend on the state. Must have a "satisfactory" driving record. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Laboratory Courier may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Summary: Pickup and deliver; mail, bulk supplies, pharmacy items, lab work/reports, X-Rays, linen, food services items etc., to and from CaroMont Regional Medical Center departments (onsite and offsite), affiliate/business offices, physician offices, and other outside establishments.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record. Ability to use computer and hand-held courier device. Good communication skills, ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete simple computational skills. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Demonstrated skill in driving light trucks and vans (Box Truck/Refrigerated Truck). Bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, frequent walking, and getting in and out of truck/van required. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance of another person. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, be detailed oriented, and have excellent organizational skills.
