Laboratory Courier picks up and delivers medical specimens and packages for a laboratory. Ensures timely, safe, and accurate delivery. Being a Laboratory Courier is responsible for maintenance and care of vehicle. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Laboratory Courier must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Licensing requirements depend on the state. Must have a "satisfactory" driving record. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Laboratory Courier may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Purpose of the position
Ag Laboratory FloaterTechnician will be responsible for taking delegated work by the manager and filling in on any position within the department that is needed.
Key responsibilities & duties
1. Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for all testing performed in the Ag Lab
2. Test and analyze samples to determine chemical content and other characteristics.
3. Document results of tests and analyses.
4. Practice safe laboratory practices and maintain a clean work environment.
5. Prepares chemical solutions for use in extracting and analysis of soils using standard operating procedures.
6. Completing assisgnments given by the manager accurately and efficiently.
7. Unpack samples when they are received and help others as time allows.
8. Acquire and maintain a reasonable understanding of workplace policies and procedures located in the Employee Handbook as well as Safety Plan.
9. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to help minimize equipment down time.
10. Record and analyze QC data so results are reported with the highest quality standards.
11. Inform manager of areas that needs more efficiencies or new equipment.
12. Log in samples and make sensible decisions based on sample type
13. Any duty or activity management deems necessary.
14. Archive reports daily and let manager know of any reporting issues
15. Evaluate SOP’s on a constant basis and make necessary changes.
16. Manage work flow when manager is out of the lab and report issues to Lab Director

Academic & trades qualifications
A two or four-year degree is preferred. A High School diploma is required
Work experience & skills
Laboratory experience is preferred. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if needed. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of an organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Microsoft Office, including Excel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, or hear. The employee must frequently reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.
