Being a Laboratory Courier is responsible for maintenance and care of vehicle. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Laboratory Courier must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Licensing requirements depend on the state. Must have a "satisfactory" driving record. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Laboratory Courier may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The lab courier is to shuttle between medical offices, Patient Service Centers, and the laboratory. Couriers pick up and deliver mail, supplies, and specimens for testing, using a fixed schedule that brings them to their stops at approximately the same time every day.
