Laboratory Information Systems Coordinator coordinates, develops, and maintains the scope and performance of laboratory information systems projects. Maintains project documentation by formulating and implementing policies and procedures. Being a Laboratory Information Systems Coordinator maintains and updates the system. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Laboratory Information Systems Coordinator typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Laboratory Information Systems Coordinator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Laboratory Technician

  • Role Purpose: Performs dynamic and static tests in accordance to government regulations, regulatory body specifications and manufacturing requirements. Dynamic tests are performed using free falling impact probes, accelerometers, load cells, displacement transducers and PC based data acquisition systems. Repairs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical equipment for conformance to established standards, and assists in formulating testing and work standards.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    ·      Plans sequence of testing and certification procedures for instruments (crash test dummies) and equipment.

    ·      Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and certify other instruments and test equipment.

    ·      Input data information and utilize data acquisition systems to perform system checks and data collection for ATDs.

    ·      Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.

    ·      Measures parts for conformity with specifications.

    ·      Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts.

    ·      Reassembles and certifies instruments and equipment.

    ·      Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.

    ·      May be required to participate in a Company’s internal audit system as an internal auditor.

    ·      Other duties as assigned

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Internet software.
