    GENERAL PURPOSE

    Responsible for providing program coordination and support to department and school staff.  Through expert knowledge of Student Information Services (SIS) software applications, this role trains, supports, and troubleshoots by serving as a resource and providing guidance based on their technology knowledge and experience; ensuring the production of reports within required timeframes.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Maintains the course catalog in the SIS system as specified by the SPS curriculum staff.
    • Maintains the master schedule for the purpose of enrolling students and assigning staff.
    • Ensures accurate attendance reporting of courses and staff.
    • Maintains a thorough knowledge of state reporting requirements and guidelines.
    • Provides exemplary customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provides assistance to district staff (e.g. entering student data into electronic grading system, SIS telephone support for applications, etc.) distributing information to appropriate parties and application support when needed.
    • Develops user job aids and online library of supplemental instructions and custom reports to enhance staffs’ ability to utilize computer software applications.
    • Implements software applications as needed to provide access to computerized alternatives to manual processes.
    • Maintains existing programs and a variety of files and/or records ensuring ongoing availability of information to meet mandated requirements.
    • Responds to inquiries from a variety of district personnel providing support, technical advice, and operational assistance.
    • Tests application software ensuring products match defined requirements and expected functionality.
    • Trains selected personnel ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing application software.
    • Troubleshoots existing application software identifying and resolving issues; providing user training or referring to other resources for resolution.
    • Performs other related duties as required/assigned.

    Oualifications and Requirements

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in job-related area from an accredited college or university or comparable experience.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.

    Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements

    • Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.

    • Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems.
    • Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include current, legacy and emerging operating systems; environments and network protocols; enterprise computing and equipment; advanced database concepts and best practices; business continuity and disaster recovery best practices; Inter/Intranet applications; data security, project management, processes and methodology.
    • Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
    • Skill based competencies required to perform the functions of the job, including strong customer service skills, pleasant and tactful demeanor and professional appearance and conduct.
    • Ability to read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions.

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

    • Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
    • The work is light work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
    • Must possess the physical ability perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
    • Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, manual dexterity, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
