Laboratory Manager manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Manager plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Manager orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Laboratory Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Laboratory Services Director will be responsible for oversight of all laboratory services within this acute care facility. Working closely with and reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer COO, the Laboratory Director will provide clinical management of the laboratory, ensuring all employees follow quality and infection control policies, and guidelines in accordance with The Joint Commission, CLIA, OSHA, and CAP. The Laboratory Director will demonstrate strong leadership skills, motivating their team to deliver quick lab test turn-around times in order to ultimately ensure high quality patient care outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology, active Medical Technologist (MT) ASCP Certification, 3 years of progressive laboratory leadership experience within the acute care setting.
