Senior Software Product Manager - Remote

  • Reporting within the JMCRS Business Units, the Senior Software Product Manager provides portfolio oversight of new technology consisting of both software and hardware products. Within a cross-functional team, this role owns and leads the portfolio strategy and roadmap, meet with Key Opinion Leaders and represent the voice of customer in defining and prioritizing user requirements, train commercial organization, and report on progress to both short- and long-term financial targets. Success in the role is measured by 1) ability to drive successful market adoption of new technologies and subsequent iterations, 2) achievement of financial milestones, including revenue and margin targets, 3) contribution to business roadmap and portfolio diversification.

    Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including hardware and software development contractors and consultants, this position will own end-to-end product lifecycle. The Senior Software Product Manager establishes themselves as the subject matter expert and provides direct technical and selling support to customer-facing internal teams. The incumbent engages in direct customer contact for voice-of-customer, market intelligence, or co-selling initiatives.


    The salary range is $96,945 - $162,310. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

    Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

    • Oversee the development and launch of first-generation software solutions for scientists who use rodent in vivo models to assess the safety and biological efficacy of a drug candidate, or to discover novel findings about disease pathology with emphasis on software packages for commercial preclinical clients
    • Develop and maintain product development roadmap, including prioritization of features and requirements based on market needs
    • Serve as central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including contactors and consultants, and ensure alignment to project goals and timelines
    • Independently conduct voice-of-customer analysis and observational studies to understand real world applications and pain points
    • Gather and collate market intelligence from primary and secondary sources to enable data-driven investment decisions
    • Develop and deliver sales trainings to both U.S. and international field teams
    • Develop market-based pricing strategy, negotiate preferred client terms, and participate in annual financial target setting
    • Guide strategy for marketing and event planning, and participate as needed in tradeshows and JAX-hosted events in support of product portfolio

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree Preferred)
    • Proven track record of 5 years managing enterprise software products, preferably in a life science or healthcare organization
    • Familiarity with life science research or preclinical drug development pipelines preferred
    • Strong understanding of agile development, with experience leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced environment
    • Experience with scientific data interpretation and visualization software development is preferred
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, prioritize initiatives and resources, and make data-driven decisions
    • Experience with product management tools and techniques such as JIRA, Confluence, Aha, or similar tools
    • Strong project management skills, with ability to monitor and drive multiple workstreams in parallel
    • Up to 30% travel (Both international and domestic)
