AUI is currently seeking a motivated individual to grow with us in our Oxford office.

The Medical Laboratory Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising laboratory operations including pathology, clinical, and molecular departments.

Requirements

DUTIES:

• Inventory purchasing and inventory management for the laboratory.
• Manages activities of assigned staff. Oversees or conducts training and new team member orientations. Manages workload and scheduling.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and tracks all routine maintenance and quality controls performed. Oversees quality assurance procedures. Ensures adequate safety and compliance with standard operating procedures. Requests new equipment as needed and develops new laboratory procedures.
• Assists with lab information technology including lab LIS and EMRs.
• Disposes of hazardous chemical waste per regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains strictest confidentiality.
• Complies with all State, Federal, professional regulations as well as company and departmental rules, polices, and procedural manuals. and competent in the areas of embedding, microtomy, grossing, special stains, and immunohistochemistry.
• Adherence to CAP (College of American Pathologists), CLIA (Clinica Laboratory Improvement Amendments), State Regulations, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability), Safety and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Regulations.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in microbiology, medical technology, or biological sciences..

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two years’ experience in progressively responsible positions in laboratory,

State of Florida Supervisor license in at least one subject matter area.
