Laboratory Manager jobs in Las Cruces, NM
Laboratory Manager manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Manager plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Manager orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Laboratory Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Position Summary
The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs clinical testing in at least two of the following areas: General Lab, Microbiology, Transfusion Services, and Processing/Tube Dispatch. In addition to obtaining specimens and performing clinical laboratory tests the Medical Laboratory Scientist demonstrates leadership through student and team member instruction, independent problem solving and client service. The Medical Laboratory Scientist provides service to patients throughout the life span including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric age groups.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree. Certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist or as a Specialist in related field preferred.
- Minimum Experience: None
- Certification/Licensure: Med Tech ASCP or equivalent or eligible preferred.
