Laboratory Manager manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Manager plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Manager orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Laboratory Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are looking for a dynamic Laboratory Manager! You will be responsible for overall operation of hospital laboratory services. Ensures that services are of the best quality, are cost efficient, and are carried out in an expeditious manner. Recognizes test results or operational problems that require referral to the clinical laboratory pathologist. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department. Helps formulate budget. Complies with all regulatory standards. Maintains effective physician and intradepartmental relations.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry.
    • Current Medical Technologist - Supervisor licensure in the State of Nevada.
    • Masters degree in public health, hospital administration or business administration preferred.
    • Minimum of one-year managerial experience in the clinical laboratory of an acute care hospital (in non-waived testing).
    • Prefer experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations.
