Laboratory Manager jobs in Salisbury, NC
Laboratory Manager manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Manager plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Manager orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Laboratory Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. What you'll do as: Laboratory Tech
- Preparation of samples using standard techniques
- Performing chemical analysis using standard techniques
- Calculating data
- Disposing of laboratory materials and samples
- Reviewing, completing, and processing logs, documents, and databases
Work ExperienceThe preferred candidate might:
- BS in biology, chemistry or equivalent with 2 years experience
- HS diploma or equivalent with 4 years of lab support experience
- Knowledge of computer applications and systems related to the work
- Ability to multitask and problem solve
- Experience working in a lab and office setting using standard equipment
