Laboratory Manager manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Manager plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Manager orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Laboratory Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The new Manager of Laboratory Services will join a community medical center recognized by the Washington State Hospital Association for delivering outstanding care to the community it serves.     Leading the in-house testing team the Manager of Laboratory Services will have full command of the department and report directly to the Executive Director of Operations while working with all members of the current management team. This Manager of Laboratory Services will be working closely with the Quality department to evaluate new procedures and equipment.

    The Laboratory serves as a vital component of the hospital's healthcare services, supporting diagnostic and treatment processes for patients. Working in this role, the Manager of Laboratory Services would have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of healthcare professionals, including the excellent MD's who oversee patient care and the exceptional techs who perform diagnostic tests and analyses. The energy of the unit is a blend of professionalism and camaraderie, reflecting the hospital's commitment to high-quality patient care and a supportive work environment.

    The Manager of Laboratory Services will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and high standards of the hospital's laboratory services. The core functions of the Manager of Laboratory Services consists of providing the opportunities of education and professional development. The Manager of Laboratory Services is responsible for maintaining compliance with billing regulations but the role will also require a professional demeanor, adherence to organizational policies, and effective communication with team members and support groups to uphold the hospital's values and standards
