Laboratory Services Director manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Services Director plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Services Director orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Laboratory Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Responsibilities:

    • Manual weighing of small molecule powders for the creation of a 2 million compound screening deck
    • Promote continuous improvement and technological innovation to support vision of an industry-leading compound management organization providing rapid and seamless delivery
    • Maintain visible and active presence in Lawrenceville compound management labs
    • Performs laboratory tests or other laboratory work using conventional and computerized machines and work aids at a basic level with supervision.
    • Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.
    • Performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards.
    • Determines chemical and physical characteristics or composition.
    • Collects and analyze samples.
    • Records test results and writes test reports describing procedures used.
    • Cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment.
    • May prepare graphs and charts.
    • May prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.

    Skills or Requirements:
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross functional groups.
    • General familiarity with scientific laboratory environment, safety, and operations.

    Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree in scientific field, preferably in Chemistry, Biology or Engineering.
