Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree, Nationally Certified
• State of Florida Supervisor License, licensure preferred in all 6 areas, or at least Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunohematology
• 5 years of clinical laboratory experience
• Knowledge of Joint Commission, College of American Pathology, and AABB accreditation standards
• Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations on Clinical Laboratories

As a Hospital Laboratory Supervisor, you will be a pivotal force in supervising both technical and non-technical laboratory personnel, ensuring daily operations meet organization and regulatory requirements. Your functional areas of responsibility may span technical discipline areas, specimen collection, processing, and referral testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure scheduling, productivity, and inventory for assigned shift(s).
• Oversee staffing, adjusting schedules and workstations as needed.
• Conduct orientation, in-services, competency testing, and safety training.
• Maintain accreditation and licensing requirements for the laboratory.
• Implement the laboratory safety program, adhering to all hospital safety goals.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic laboratory procedures.
• Review quality control programs, preventative maintenance, and patient records.
• Foster collaboration with other departments, physicians, and team members for quality patient care.
• Stay current in technical skills and knowledge.
