Laboratory Supervisor / Laboratory Manager - Blood Bank

    Hours: M-F First Shift Standard Hours (Occasional Weekends)
    Industry: Blood / Cord Blood Collections

    We are looking for someone who has a passion for the future!  This position will involve processing cord blood and placental tissues for a global player in the tissue storage industry.

    Responsibilities:
    • Processing and Storing Cord Blood and Tissues
    • Working with Senior Staff on Processes / Procedures / Quality
    • Hiring and training staff

    Skills:
    • 7 years‘experience in clinical blood bank laboratory in all areas (processing, testing, storage, release, etc.) and cellular therapy (stem cell) laboratory
    • 3 years‘ experience in people management (lab staff) 
    • Experience overseeing all technical aspects of tissue bank operations under the supervision of a medical director
    • Ability to ensure quality control management and to set up corresponding processes
    • Experience in ensuring the validation of laboratories, processes, procedures, and equipment
    • Ability for teamwork, multitasking, regular reporting and performance of assigned tasks on time and in the required quality
    • Experience with laboratory inspections, audits, proficiency testing, etc.
    • Experience in communicating with regulatory and licensing offices and official certification authorities is welcome
    • Current certification as Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or similar; ASCP certification strongly preferred (not required, equivalent experience would be considered)
