We are seeking a Submarine qualified Officer to serve as the liaison to the Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC) and its Tactical Analysis Group (TAG) in Groton, CT as part of the Submarine Tactual Development Program (STDP). The initial onboarding would be at Laurel, MD with frequent travel to UWDC and Sponsor Program Office, with a final seating on-site at UWDC in Groton, CT. As an Undersea Warfare Development Center Liaison you would... * Apply undersea warfare systems domain and operational expertise while serving as a JHU/APL onsite liaison for STDP security and survivability matters at the Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC) and its Tactical Analysis Group (TAG). * Facilitate collaboration between the UWDC, UWDC TAG and the SSBN Security Technology and SSN/SSG Survivability Programs on security and survivability matters, sea test development and analysis, and assessments results and findings.
* Liaison and collaborate closely with the UWDC and UWDC TAG staff. Assist in STDP activities associated with planning and execution of security and survivability data collection to include sea tests and operational mission periods. Develop concepts of employment and recommendations for current submarine doctrine manuals based on assessments, analysis and findings. Based on a strong understanding of current submarine fleet tactics, techniques and procedures, assist advanced development peer review groups, peer organizations, developer and integration organizations to understand and facilitate submarine fleet issues.
* Maintain strong skills in the employment and operations of undersea warfare combat systems, sensors, platforms to provide Subject Matter Expertise to UWDC and its TAG. Participate in relevant security and survivability data collection activities during shore site testing and at sea exercises, tests, and operations.
* Conduct operational analyses to determine security and survivability against threat and allied assets. Interface with fleet operators, system developers and analysis team members to determine analysis methodology, appropriate measures of performance and data required to execute analysis for STDP.
* Prepare detailed briefings on analysis methodology and results. Communicate results of STDP assessments, analyses, operational and tests at sea to UWDC and its TAG staff to inform employment doctrine, tactics and training. Brief results to sponsors and other external organizations. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... * Have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent level of experience, with seven or more years of relevant operational/technical experience.
* Have extensive background in undersea warfare data collection, event reconstruction and doctrine, tactics, and procedural development associated with the detailed security and survivability of submarines.
* Detailed knowledge in undersea warfare system employment.
* Excellent written, verbal and briefing skills.
* Willingness to participate in off-site Field Testing and physically able to support at-sea test and evaluation.
* Have initiative, motivation, flexibility and interest in working in a team environment
* Are willing and able to travel extensively (50% in Laurel, MD and 50% in Groton, CT) for the first year. Travel in subsequent years will be evaluated based on experience in first year.
* Are able to obtain an Interim Top Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.
