• Manages the Chemistry,, Special Chemistry
• Ensures proper staff training.
• Performs staff competency assessments.
• Responsible for proper staffing and contingency planning.
• Monitors inventory control, anticipates needed supplies and ensures timely ordering, receipt and proper storage of supplies.
• Establishes Quality Control procedures.
• Conducts supervisory review of documentation.
• Ensures proper operation of all equipment. Contacts technical support when necessary and maintains service reports.
• Monitors staff's activities for compliance to policies and procedures.
• Recommends improvements when nonconformities are identified. Implements corrective action plans accordingly.
• Monitors staff's continuing education activities.
• Cooperates with the Quality Assurance department on quality improvement activities.
• Actively participates in management meetings.
• Conducts staff meetings.
• Ensures that proficiency testing is being performed according to procedures and policies.
• Manages overall laboratory operation by ensuring appropriate implementation of protocols to guarantee safety, security, quality, and accuracy of results.
• Communicates problems to upper management in a timely fashion

Education requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related field and six years experience after acquiring the NYSDOH medical technologist's license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $91,648.00 - $99,685.00 per year
