Being a Lactation Consultant is responsible for identifying and correcting lactation problems, and advising physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients. Requires an associate degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Lactation Consultant requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
