Responsibilities

The RN Lactation Consultant functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes. This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination. This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services. The RN Staff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of a NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing
• 1-2 years Mother/Baby and/or Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• RN License by the State of NJ.
• BLS Certification Required and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification.
• OB nursing certification preferred.
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credentials required
• Completed Intermediate AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire
