Lactation Consultant provides lactation support and education to patients and families. May plan and lead breastfeeding classes for expecting mothers. Being a Lactation Consultant is responsible for identifying and correcting lactation problems, and advising physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients. Requires an associate degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Lactation Consultant requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Pediatric Associates of Savannah is looking for an IBCLC to join our busy practice. The ideal candidate should be board-certified as a Lactation Consultant by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) and have at least 1 year of clinical experience.
Great hourly pay with benefits along with support from a Breastfeeding Medicine physician and pediatricians. The candidate must maintain licensure and certification and attend continuing education courses as required.
