Lactation Consultant provides lactation support and education to patients and families. May plan and lead breastfeeding classes for expecting mothers. Being a Lactation Consultant is responsible for identifying and correcting lactation problems, and advising physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients. Requires an associate degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Lactation Consultant requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Additional requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a polite and professional approach, and WOW customer service skills. We are also seeking candidates who demonstrate strong leadership abilities and organizational skills. This position may require weekend and holiday work.
