Lactation Consultant provides lactation support and education to patients and families. May plan and lead breastfeeding classes for expecting mothers. Being a Lactation Consultant is responsible for identifying and correcting lactation problems, and advising physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients. Requires an associate degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Lactation Consultant requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lactation Consultant to join our team. As a Lactation Consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance, support, and education to new mothers and families in their breastfeeding journey. You will work closely with mothers prenatally and postnatally, providing personalized lactation counseling, troubleshooting breastfeeding issues, and promoting successful breastfeeding practices.
- Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
- Experience: 2 year's clinical experience
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current RN License from the State of Practice
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBLCE) -Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
