Land Administrator assists in the preparing, updating and maintaining all land documentation, land maps and lease records. Ensures all information is in compliance with all local, state and federal agencies and regulations. Being a Land Administrator requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Land Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Land Management Administrator

  • This position provides administration of the Land Management systems, data and processes.   This position ensures the accuracy and completeness of the system of record for land-based information.   Additionally, this position serves as a consultant to various constituencies within the City regarding the selection and use of appropriate technologies and business processes related to Land Management.

    • Manages ongoing maintenance of the Land Management module, in coordination with the ERP Systems Administrator
    • Creates and updates parcels, streets, and address records
    • Analyzes data for inconsistencies or errors, and makes appropriate corrections to the data
    • Examines Land audit reports, and reports finding to appropriate individuals
    • Provides technical assistance to end users of Land records, and works with technical staff to improve business processes related to Land Management
    • Maintains Land Management policies and procedures in accordance with established guidelines
    • Coordinates and prepares performance measure reports related to Land use
    • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures in accordance with established policies and protocols; provides training to appropriate support staff
    • Maintain Street Dictionary and associated data
    • Assist with development and maintenance of adhoc reports requested by City staff
    • Maintenance of Property Appraiser data transfer to the Land Management systems
    • Assist with GIS needs in association with Land Management related mapping
    • Assist in development and maintenance of GIS related data used to integrate with Land Management
    • Assist in development and maintenance of web based mapping

    • Ability to conduct analysis, interpret research findings, provide solutions to functional problems, and translate abstract ideas into easily understood procedures.
    • Excellent customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively, both in person and in writing
    • Has knowledge of standard terminology, techniques, and practices of ERP Land Records systems and Geographic Information Systems
    • Working knowledge with Relational Database software such as Microsoft SQL
    • Ability to research/analyze data and present findings in various report formats
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work assignments with competing deadlines
    • Ability to plan, organize and use mature judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions in accordance with established policy
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public

    Physical Activities:

    The work is light: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Additional requirements include balancing, climbing, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.

    (Occasional=1-3 Hrs.; Frequent=3-5 Hrs.; Constant=5-8 Hrs. – Per Workday)


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor degree in relevant field of study preferred. 
    •  A combination of post-secondary technical education and two or more years of SQL database experience may also be considered.   
    • Previous experience working with GIS systems, such as ESRI, desired.

    (A comparable amount of training, education and/or experience may be substituted for the above qualifications.)

    Licenses and Certifications:

    Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Florida driver’s license by date of hire.
