Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) - Frisco
The Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) is responsible for leading a team of Surveyors in Training, Survey Technicians and field survey staff to produce survey data and reports to support Peloton’s land development clients as well as external survey clients. The RPLS must be knowledgeable about easement/right-of way surveys, Plats, ALTA’s, boundary surveys, property descriptions, topographic surveys, client relations, and project management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Review the accuracy of all surveys and data, plot and site plans, charts, maps, records, and documents related to surveys
Sign and seal survey documents
Supervise and coordinate the activities of field and office staff
Provide project management and oversight for all surveying to ensure projects are completed
Perform research, field investigations, and project boundary calculations.
Work directly with other surveyors, engineers, and technical and survey staff
Search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain property information
Maintain excellent relationships with clients

SKILLS
Technical writing
Experience in managing and mentoring staff
Excellent project management, communication, organization and decision-making skills
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and ArcGIS mapping software
Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis for detail and meeting deadlines
Ability to plan and execute projects from start to finish in a timely and efficient manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of all types of surveys, ALTA’s, Boundary, and TOPO surveys along with construction staking and GPS experience
Writing emails, letters and memos
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has supervisory responsibilities and is responsible for overseeing/managing survey staff.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most of the Surveying department operates between the hours of 7am-4pm but may require varying scheduling. Some jobs do require flexibility in scheduling in all outdoor weather. Work may be on sites that are developed as well as rural areas.
TRAVEL
Employee may be required to travel to local client and governmental offices as well as visit jobsites 50-75% of the time depending on job assignments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
5 years of related experience with TxDOT, public and private sector land development
RPLS License in Texas required
Must be legally eligible and insurable to drive to regular assignments and jobsites
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree preferred
Experience in the DFW metroplex area
