We are looking to add an experienced project surveyor to our group. This position is solely office-based, with periodic site trips. Field surveying is not a part of this role.
Note: This person can work in any of their Southern California locations, Irvine, LA, Ontario or San Diego.
Responsibilities:
1. In charge of creating, managing, and overseeing the following: legal descriptions, condominium plans, lot line adjustments, ALTA surveys, survey records, and other pertinent subdivision and survey–related matters.
2. Work closely with engineering project managers and keep an eye on the budget and schedule.
3. Create the mapping tasks, plan them out, and execute them.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Works with the senior mapping and survey manager to keep an eye on one or two members of the mapping team.
- Performs supervisory tasks in accordance with the organization's policy and the law.
- Apart from organizing, allocating, and overseeing tasks, duties also encompass educating employees.
Significant Duties:
- Resolve boundary conflicts found in surveys; calculate and produce subdivision maps; assist in the processing of maps for regulatory approval.
- Serve as the company's subdivision mapping expert, offering advice on the Subdivision Map Act, the Professional Land Surveyor's Act, and regional laws.
- Examine and abide by all approval requirements for mapping activities specified in Tentative Maps.
- Keep abreast on the most recent software developments and mapping protocols.
- Keep an eye on procedural requirements, agency costs, and map timetables.
- Help the senior mapping manager with financial project administration duties like billing and collecting money, as well as making sure the client is satisfied.
- Keep in regular contact with clients, Engineering or Survey Team Leaders, and about project timetables, extra requirements, and mapping criteria that support project goals.
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience, which can be obtained through any combination of college education and design experience in land border and titles, plus 2 years of general survey and mapping education and 6 years of practical work.
- 2 years or more of independent experience resolving challenging engineering or mapping issues.
- A California land surveyor license is necessary.
