Land Surveyors Manager manages and coordinates surveys and investigations of land surfaces. Ensures compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements including boundary calculations and legal issues. Being a Land Surveyors Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to land surveying team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Additionally, Land Surveyors Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Land Surveyors Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Land Surveyors Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     5 years Civil Construction Experience is a MUST.

    The project manager is responsible for tracking ongoing work in the field with subcontractors, interpreting blueprints for construction projects, making sure quality of work is performed, and approving payment quantities for progress payments on jobs. Also needs to be able to make field decisions on construction techniques / outcome when in question. Approves minor change orders for day to day work. Performs other job duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate all infrastructure improvements, design through installation and acceptance.
    • Keep office informed of status/ problems of all work
    • Coordinate with engineering for infrastructure improvements, design and installation
    • Coordinate with utility companies for infrastructure improvements, design and installation
    • Coordinate with subcontractors for infrastructure improvements, bid through installation and acceptance.
    • Making field decisions on field fit/ retro fit of work Managing Air quality (dust control) permits and implementation
    • Working with Landscape Design and Installation Managing Storm Water Pollution Plan Review progress payment submittals.

    Skills:

    • General Civil Engineering knowledge and/or experience Survey staking REQUIRED
    • Contracting – Bid preparation through execution and payment
    • Completion of Dust Control Compliance Training Class
    • Completion of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan - Certified Training
    • Decision making ability Time management skills
    • Equipment utilization Interpretation / understanding of blueprints (technical and engineering experience helpful)
