Land Surveyors Supervisor supervises a staff who surveys and investigates land surfaces to project precise measurement and location of lines, angles, points, areas, and elevations. Ensures the staff performs project research, boundary calculations, and records accuracy of survey data, notes, and sketches. Being a Land Surveyors Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Land Surveyors Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Duties include researching titles, mortgages, and leases, locate road center lines and determine right of way, prepare legal description of properties to be purchased by jurisdiction and plot metes and bounds from deed descriptions.
Requirements: Will be required to possess a Land Surveyor’s License issued by the New Jersey State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey.
