Duties: Under direction of licensed landscape architect, design landscapes for commercial and residential clients. Analyze site, including grading, drainage, and utility lines and design landscapes to meet client requirements, to comply with local landscape codes and ordinances, and to meet project budget. Select plants and materials according to availability, suitability for site, and cost. Use AutoCAD, Land F/X, SketchUp and Photoshop Suite to develop design drawings, plans and perspectives. Research irrigation products and systems and use AutoCAD to design landscape irrigation systems and details. Calculate cost estimate for landscape design and prepare project quotes. Prepare landscape and irrigation as-built drawings after completion of projects. Prepare plot drawings as needed for projects.
