Landscape Architect Manager supervises all related activities of a staff of landscape architects and technicians. Oversees, manages, and schedules the development of exterior spaces and physical environments, the development of schematic designs and construction details, and is ultimately responsible for final project. Being a Landscape Architect Manager requires a bachelor's degree in a related field. Typically reports to a top management. The Landscape Architect Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Landscape Architect Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As a member of the branch's Executive Management Team, the Area Manager takes on the overall responsibility for the success of offsite/commercial projects (rec centers, parks, playgrounds, slopes, hardscapes, etc.) and will be integral to the branch meeting its financial goals and growth plans.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Workload Projections: Review, analyze, and understand forthcoming workload by constantly interfacing with sales/estimating to provide direction on margin aggressiveness, resource dedication, and customer satisfaction.
    2. Cost Analysis (Percent of Completion): Provide accurate costs to complete and recognize additional revenue through review and produce reliable monthly financials.
    3. Schedule & Dispatch: Understanding individual job budgets, dedicate required resources daily specific to each project; communicate with client and generate tentative schedule to coincide w/their projections; communicate expectations to field personnel and follow-up for accountability by project, by individual.
    4. Labor: Understand dedication required for each project specific to each budget and communicate expectations to installing foreman and supervisors.
    5. Project Budgets & “Deals Made”: Mandates pre-construction meetings and thorough folder set-ups. Evaluates, understands project commitment, and agrees to charge if warranted. Understands contract scope of work through thorough review. Established crew sizes, crew days, and critical path for success. As project progresses, monitor for variances, reestablish “game plans” for victory.
    6. Managing People: Must take responsibility for subordinates’ activities’, be available for staff, provide regular performance feedback and develop subordinates’ skills and encourage growth.

    Skills & Experience Required:

    • *Landscape construction experience is an absolute requirement.
    • A minimum of at least five (5) years of related experience and/or training is strongly preferred and recommended.
    • Must have a flexible schedule to work early mornings and weekends as needed, as well as some occasional travel as necessary.
    • Must be computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Must demonstrate and possess the following skills:

      • Strategic thinking and decision making
      • Risk and financial management

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • Base Salary: Starting at $100k plus bonuses and commissions
      • Final compensation will depend on overall experience and skillset
