Landscape Architect Manager supervises all related activities of a staff of landscape architects and technicians. Oversees, manages, and schedules the development of exterior spaces and physical environments, the development of schematic designs and construction details, and is ultimately responsible for final project. Being a Landscape Architect Manager requires a bachelor's degree in a related field. Typically reports to a top management. The Landscape Architect Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Landscape Architect Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Candidates should be passionate about the built environment, self-motivated, love design at all levels, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment. As a Landscape Architect Account Manager, you will successfully manage all phases of the work including the production of high-quality designs, presentations, and documentation, which includes proposal creation. 


    Essential Roles and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: 


    Account/Project Management


    • Collaborate with principals or other account managers on a variety of project types and scales. 
    • Manage landscape architecture/design projects including planning, site layout, landscape design documents, and proposals. 
    • Collaborate with account management and the operations teams on complex projects of all scales. 
    • Maintain and develop client relationships. 
    • Act as an advocate and mentor for design staff. 
    • Collaborate with ownership and account managers to coordinate concept visioning and review design documents and specifications for quality assurance. 
    • Prepare construction cost estimates and proposals. 
    • Prepare responses to RFP’s. 
    • Interview for prospective work. 
    • Attend weekly meetings to coordinate projects, work plans, and team-focused initiatives. 
    • Review project budgets and monthly reports. 
    • Act as a design resource for projects and department standards. 
    • Engage in training and professional development opportunities.


    Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: 


    • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
    • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience is preferred. 
    • Professional registration as a Wisconsin Licensed Landscape Architect or ability to obtain reciprocity quickly. 
    • Team player with excellent design, graphic, communication, and presentation skills. 
    • Well-organized and detail-oriented. 
    • Experience in producing high-quality concept presentations and documentation sets. 
    • Experience in project accounting and demonstrated ability to manage project schedules and budgets. 
    • Experience in construction administration and specifications. 
    • Experience in business development and client development. 
    • Experience with both in-office and remote project management. 
    • Knowledge of design software including Dynascape (AutoCAD, Sketchup and 3D modeling programs.) 
    • Understanding of Microsoft Suite Applications (or Google equivalents), PDF, and landscape management software Aspire
