1.The housekeeper is the focal point of our environmental service
staff. He/she is responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the facility on a daily basis. 2. Must be able to perform the necessary duties in the daily
routine cleaning of resident rooms as follows:
· Following Infection Control policies
· Before the use of any equipment check that it is in proper working order, and you understand fully how to operate properly.
· Lock out Tag out any broken equipment.
· Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment
· Proper disposal of soiled items
· Keeping storage/chemical closets always locked
· Keep equipment, chemicals in safe location away from residents
· Emptying, sanitizing, and relining trash receptacles
· Proper techniques for horizontal surface cleaning (furniture, tables, desks, etc.)
· Proper techniques for vertical surface cleaning (walls, doors, etc.)
· Proper techniques for sweeping and mopping floors
· Proper techniques in stripping floors of wax, and reapplying and then buffing floors on a rotating basis throughout the facility
· Proper techniques for sanitizing and disinfecting restrooms & restocking supplies
3.Must be able to perform the necessary duties for the monthly deep cleaning of resident room as follows:
· The above steps for daily resident room cleaning as well as
· Sanitizing and disinfecting of resident beds including headboard, footboard, bed rails, and frames.
· Sanitizing and disinfecting of hard surfaces in high touch areas in residents’ rooms and throughout the facility.
· Sanitizing and disinfecting of handrails
· Detailed cleaning of corners, edges, baseboards, ceilings, curtain tracks, privacy curtains, and resident personal belongings.
· Follow all safety procedures, infection control policies, and universal precautions to ensure the health and welfare of residents, staff, and visitors.
· Follow proper procedures for stocking housekeeping carts and closets.
· All housekeepers must report to work in assigned uniform as deemed by the facility.
· All housekeepers must report problems, concerns, and maintenance issues to the Supervisor.
· All housekeepers must act in a courteous, professional, and appropriate manner at all times.
· All housekeepers must follow specific job descriptions as posted by Executive Housekeeper.
Laundry Duties:
· The Laundry Aide is responsible for general laundry duties, distribution of clean linen, and maintaining a clean work area.
· In doing so the Laundry Aide will collect soiled linens from throughout the facility, sort them, wash & dry them, fold clean linens, iron linens as necessary, and distributes the clean linens among departments in accordance with the routine schedule.
· The Laundry Aide may also wash, dry, and mend patient’s/resident’s personal clothing as directed by their supervisor.
· While carrying out these general laundry duties, the Laundry Aide observes and follows all infection control and sanitation policies and procedures.
