Laundry Aide

The Laundry Aide provides a variety of laundry duties in an orderly, sanitary condition and in collecting and laundering of linens, garments, and washables. 

Laundry Aide Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sorts all linens and treat stains
• Loads all laundry into washer and adds specified cleaning agents
• Takes wet, clean items and dries as directed
• Sorts and folds or hangs clean dried items
• Maintains inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicates needs to manager
• Maintains all laundry equipment and informs facility’s manager as to any maintenance needs
• Other duties as assigned

Laundry Aide Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience in an institutional setting performing housekeeping services is desired
• Must be able to read, speak and understand the English language

Laundry Aide Physical Demands:

•          Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
•          Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
•          May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
•          The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
