Laundry Manager - Healthcare manages the daily operations of a laundry services department for a healthcare facility. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.- Supervise the laundry staff; providing open communications, training, coach and counsel and provide performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Assist Executive Housekeeper in the supervision of the laundry staff; assist in scheduling, train, provide open communication, coach and counsel and provide performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Monitor the condition of all laundry equipment for proper maintenance, cleaning and repair to protect assets and ensure maximum efficiency and a safe work environment.
- Assist Executive Housekeeper in the control of linen inventories through maintaining accurate records on linen discarded.
- Act as a lead worker in operating all laundry equipment, sorting, processing for cleaning, folding, and ironing to ensure appropriate clean linens available for business level.
- Turns in all lost and found items and all guest room keys.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
- Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
- Utilizes protective equipment.
- Reports unsafe conditions to management.
- Reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management.
- Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in team member handbook).
- Perform any related duties as requested by management.
- Assists other Housekeeping Personnel when need.
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability.
- Requires knowledge of the Laundry, Housekeeping and/or Hotel field.
- Knowledge of how to use laundry chemicals.
- One to two years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow directions and perform job functions under limited supervision.
- Ability to Lift, Push & Pull up to (50) pounds required.
- Frequent bending while loading/unloading washers/dryers, sorting linen and folding.
- Continuous movement throughout department.
- Standing is required during the entire shift.
- Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
