Lawn Service Manager manages the daily activities of workers engaged in pruning trees and shrubs, cultivating lawns, and applying pesticides and other chemicals according to service contract specifications. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the unit. Being a Lawn Service Manager may require an associate's degree or its equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in the field. Generally manages a group of nonexempt employees. Additionally, Lawn Service Manager relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager. Responsibilities:
- Perform lawn care and maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, and trimming
- Irrigate lawns and plants to ensure proper hydration
- Conduct landscape maintenance activities including planting, mulching, and fertilizing
- Assist with snow plowing and removal during winter months
- Trim trees and shrubs to maintain a neat and tidy appearance
- Use hand tools and equipment to perform groundskeeping tasks
Experience:
- Previous experience in lawn care or landscaping preferred
- Knowledge of different plant species and their care requirements
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and their operation
- Ability to operate lawn care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers
- Understanding of proper pruning techniques for trees and shrubs
