Lawn Service Manager manages the daily activities of workers engaged in pruning trees and shrubs, cultivating lawns, and applying pesticides and other chemicals according to service contract specifications. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the unit. Being a Lawn Service Manager may require an associate's degree or its equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in the field. Generally manages a group of nonexempt employees. Additionally, Lawn Service Manager relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager. Responsibilities:
- Perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, and trimming
- Maintain and care for trees and shrubs by pruning and trimming
- Install and maintain landscape features such as flower beds, mulch, and hardscapes
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to promote healthy growth
- Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers
- Ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner
Experience:
- Previous experience in lawn care or landscaping is preferred
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of landscaping equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Skills:
- Digging: Ability to dig holes for planting trees or installing landscape features
- Mowing: Proficiency in operating lawn weed eaters to cut grass evenly and at the appropriate height
- Tree trimming: Skill in trimming tree branches to maintain their health and appearance
- Landscape maintenance: Knowledge of maintaining landscapes by weeding, mulching, and planting flowers or shrubs
- Mechanical knowledge: Understanding of basic mechanical principles for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
