Duties

• Observe and investigate all construction phases to ensure compliance with contract schedules, specifications and shop drawings.
• Investigate need for contract change orders, controversies which could lead to formal claims by the contractor, deviations requiring engineering determination, and other matters.
• Confer with contractor concerning sufficiency and suitability of equipment being used and number of workers employed to assure completion of work on or ahead of schedule.
• Record changes and modifications to contract drawings and specifications for use in preparation of "as built" drawings upon completion of construction.
• Coordinate with other contractors, resident office sections, and government agencies involved to preclude conflicts of interest and to maintain effective public relations on assigned construction projects.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Position requires employee to serve on rotating shifts.
• This position will be filled as a time-limited appointment. Federal employees who accept a time limited appointments will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended.
• There are no return/reemployment rights to the position vacated prior to accepting the time-limited appointment. Permanent employees who accept a time limited appointment will be expected to sign a statement of understanding.
