    The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing all aspects of manufacturing, to include estimating, scheduling, machining, and electro-mechanical assembly. Ensures that manufactured goods are produced on time, under budget, and in accordance with specifications and drawings, and quality standards. Communicates all manufacturing related issues in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP), process flow charts (PFC), and IPC workmanship standards to achieve product performance objectives. Ensures required training is current and documented. Oversees safety initiatives, product quality, waste, productivity, efficient use/reporting of materials and effective utilization of human resources. This position will interact routinely with multiple levels of management throughout the company. The position reports to the Director of Production Operations.

    Responsibilities

    Typical Duties include but are not limited to the following:

    • Responsible for training and development of all skilled associates and ensuring that training is current and effective.
    • Responsible for the operations and production results of the facility to include goal achievement, problem solving coordination, establishment of shift priorities and achievement of production results.
    • Ensure the accurate completion of required documentation per prescribed SOP’s and PFC’s. · Develop, train and mentor leaders and operators through regular feedback, participation in group decision-making, open communication and setting priorities.
    • Provide leadership and direction in Safety, Quality, and Productivity through the use of continuous improvement process.
    • Provide input to management regarding job performance of operators and assist in the mentoring and development of core teams.
    • Ensure compliance to company policies, PFC’s, IPC standards and SOP’s.
    • Creating and maintaining reports, attending regularly scheduled program meetings, workforce scheduling and manpower estimates, and other general manufacturing management activities as required or assigned.
    • Creating and maintaining Daily Operational Metrics, KPI's, and Visual Factory Management.
    • Reporting an Overview of Cost, Quality, and Delivery, and overall key departmental interactions, analyzing data, and making recommendations for improved performance using problem solving techniques.
    • Supporting proposal effort & providing cost estimates for Manufacturing areas.
    • Implementing and sustaining Lean Manufacturing methodology and other productivity improvement tools to include the following concepts:
      • Kaizen Events
      • 5S
      • Value Stream Mapping
      • Improved Flow
      • Tact Time and Waste Elimination
      • Process Variation and Improvements o Continuous Improvement Initiatives
    • Overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedule in coordination with planning.
    • Ensuring production is cost effective.
    • Estimating costs and setting quality standards.
    • Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
    • Being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment.
    • Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs.

    Required Experience/Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
    • Ten years of personnel management experience in a manufacturing environment with at least five years experience managing a staff of 20 full-time employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment following IPC standards, SOP and Work Instructions.
    • Working knowledge of OSHA and ISO 9001
    • Strong working knowledge of production systems, ERP systems (such as Deltek), and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Preferred Experience/Qualifications

    • Experience working in a Government regulated environment is preferred
