Lean Manufacturing Manager leads and designs Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. Manages all activities for continuous improvement and performance enhancement. Being a Lean Manufacturing Manager employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Lean Manufacturing Manager also requires training and Lean certification through an accredited organization. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Lean Manufacturing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Lean Manufacturing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the process design, operation and implementation. The successful candidate will be able to improve industrial processes to increase efficiency, implement and improve ergonomics, install automation solutions, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification
Work with Production and Plant Managers to assess existing processes
Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes
Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
Perform process simulations
Manage cost and time constraints
Perform risk assessments
Provide process documentation and operating instructions
Ensure operations comply with safety and quality standardsQualifications
Skills/Experience:
Lean Certification/Black Belt preferred
Experience in manufacturing continuous improvement environment
Proven work experience in process engineering
Excellent technical skills
Working knowledge of process engineering software packages
CAD or AutoCAD skills
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
