    Job Summary:

    As the Production Manager, you will lead a team of machinists, operators, and assemblers in the manufacturing process. Your responsibilities include managing production schedules, monitoring machine performance, ensuring quality control, and promoting a safe working environment. You will work closely with the planning manager, engineers, quality, and other departments to meet production targets and deliver high-quality products. The machine shop consists of CNC mills and lathes as well as a number of different manual machines.


    What Will Your Job Look Like?
    • Supervise Manufacturing Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the machine shop, ensuring that all machines are running efficiently, and production targets are met.
    • Staff Management: Hire, train, and manage, as needed, the St. Louis production team. Provide guidance, support, mentoring, and performance feedback to improve team productivity and skills.
    • Production Planning: Collaborate with the planning manager to create and implement production schedules, taking into account workload, deadlines, and resource availability.
    • Quality Control: Partner with the Director of Quality to enforce strict quality control standards to ensure that all products meet specifications and adhere to quality guidelines.
    • Machine Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure machines are properly maintained, serviced, and calibrated to maximize uptime and minimize downtime.
    • Programming and Set-Up: Assist in CNC programming and machine setup as needed, troubleshooting any issues that arise during the setup process.
    • Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a safe working environment, adhering to safety regulations and ensuring that all team members are trained on proper safety procedures.
    • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving measures in production, and implement best practices to optimize efficiency.
    • Inventory Management: Collaborate Inventory Control team. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and tooling, coordinating with procurement to ensure a smooth supply chain.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine performance, and quality control data. Generate reports for management as needed.
    • Training and Development: Stay updated with the latest CNC technology, manufacturing and industry trends, and provide training and development opportunities to the team to enhance their skills and knowledge.


    All You Need Is...
    • Proven experience as a CNC machinist, with at least 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation.
    • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate with other departments.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    Even Better If You Have…
    • GibbsCam experience preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
